Accomplishments:

1. A decision was made which APD units to procure. Efforts were initiated to modify the stock units with A/R coatings so as to improve the QE by up to 10%. Collaboration with the University of Hawaii was initiated in this regard.

2. In consultation with R. Green, a decision was made not to purchase the APDs and associated electronics this FY. Earmarked moneys will be carried forward.

3. The optical model was re-done incorporating new telescope collimation parameters. A new shim thickness was settled on. The model was distributed to G. Muller and H. Richardson.

4. Real progress on developing an accurate 3-D opto-mechanical model was made by G. Muller. A list of tasks leading to closure with optical design was given to him and these were approximately 50% completed.

5. An assessment of impact on/with the FSA was made with consultation of D. Sawyer. It was decided that the FSA would be azimuthally rotated.

6. A conceptual plan was worked out with D. Sawyer to relocate the CIA.

Plans:

1. Finish tasks previous to renewing optical design with H. Richardson.

2. Resume optical design and come up with working design.

3. Initiate procurement of APDs and associated electronics.
